Imagine, Rilee & Madison…
Your POV:
I woke up and slowly walked to the bathroom. I looked into the mirror, peering at my half asleep face, I slapped it a little and then tugged on my cheek to wake me up. I probably could have fallen asleep standing up if it weren’t for my crazy little brother to run in an April Fool’s joke on me, or should I say a prank since throwing a bucket full of iced water wasn’t really a joke, he said “April Fools!” and blamed it on the date… Ugh, I hate April 1st… I clenched my teeth together and grabbed my toothbrush. I threw a baggy, but cut up tee over my tank top, then I slipped on some knee shorts. I walked my desk where I had taken off my red white and blue converse that matched the t-shirt I was wearing. I slipped them on without socks, I REALLY didn’t care what I wore today… I walked back into the bathroom and messed with my hair a little, smirked in the mirror and left. I walked down our stairs to see the family eating. “Want some breakfast sweety?” my dad said. “Naw, I think I’m gunna go take a walk on the beach.” I said grabbing my jacket that happened to not match what I was wearing at all, but who cares. “Suit yourself.” I smiled then messed up my bro’s hair on my way out the door. Trotting down the street, I happened to see Madison, we have been tight for some time now. “Heyyy girrrl, lookin snazzy” He said pointing and winking. He decided to join me on my walk, I didn’t mind, Madison was alright. “So what are your plans tonight?” he asked me. “Oh, I think some family friends are coming over tonight for a party… My parents love parties and use every excuse they can to have one…” “Ah, yes, it’s April Fools day.” He said. I nodded, “Yup, which means I’ll probably be ducking out on all that craziness, odds are it will go on till maybe 1am or 2am… That’s how they usually are…” We both chuckled a little, “What about your bro?” He asked. “Oh, Dillon? Yea, he usually invites some friends over for a sleep over to keep him entertained.”  “Why don’t you do that?” I grabbed my sunglasses, which had been hanging from my shirt when he asked that. I put them on and stopped walking to answer. “I dunno… Don’t have many friends I guess” “We are friends, maybe I could come over?” I smiled and began to walk again, “Yea, I’m sure my parents would be cool with it, I mean it will be already pretty crazy with the drinks there, I’m sure an extra person wouldn’t be too bad” I smiled at him, “But! You’re a boy, so I hope you know that you will NOT be sleeping over” I said smiling and tilting my glasses so he could look me in the eyes, we both laughed. “Well of course” he said smiling. Madison is a good boy, and I knew that sleeping over hadn’t even crossed his mind, plus, we are just friends. We walked down the steps to the sand, we had finally reached the beach.

Later @ the party, 5:30pm
Guests had already started to arrive, there was a knock on the door, “Rilee, do you think you could get that? I’m getting some drinks from the garage.” My mom shouted from the kitchen, “Yep” I said. I was already on my way to the door to go hang my jacket on the coat hanger, the heater was on and I wasn’t really in need of any extra warmth at this point. I reached for the nob and opened it. “Hey” Madison said handing me some flowers, “Oh, are these for me?” I smiled at his dark brown eyes, “They sure are” he smiled back at me, I went to smell them, and peered right at some black bugs on it, I screamed and tossed them to the ground. “April Fools!” he said chuckling then picking up the flowers, “They’re fake, see? He said winking at me and setting them on the table next to him, I laughed too, as much of a tomboy I was, seeing them there did catch me off guard. We walked into the kitchen where my mom had been preparing drinks. “Mom, Madison is here, I hope you don’t mind, I just wanted some company” She looked up at Madison, “Sure sweety, but he’s going home when all the other guests go home.” She said looking back at the glasses she was pouring the dark drink into. “Of course ma’am” Madison smiled at my mom, she looked up, blushed and looked back at the drinks.
We ran up stairs and I flopped myself onto my bed, he sat in a spinny chair at my desk and opened my CD drawer. “You’ve got the deluxe Green Day album! And Gorillaz!” I smiled, “I thought you might like those” I said to him sitting up. “You can pop one in if you’d like” I said smiling at him. “Sweet!” he said while turning on my stereo and turning up the music. I laughed, we stood up and air guitarred for hours! Laughing, and pretending we were in a band together! It was a real great time! We took turns introducing our band in between songs and then acted as if we were holding concerts. It was almost 11:30pm and the party was still going strong downstairs! We went down and grabbed some pizza that my mom had made for the kids to eat. We took it back up stairs, not interested in the party going downstairs, just the fact that we were on a twenty minute break and need to be back on “stage” very soon. We sat, eating, joking, Madison really was the only person I could truly call my friend, I was so comfortable with him. After the break, I stood up and went to the stereo to turn it back on, “Wait” He said, I turned around and looked at him, “Wait…wait for what?” I said puzzled. “What time is it?” He said sincerely. “Uhm two minutes before midnight, why? Do you need to be home soon?” I laughed, “No, come here.” I sat down on my bed next to him, “What? Do I have something in my teeth?” I asked laughing and putting my hand to my mouth. “No, you’re fine.” He said reaching for his iphone on the table. “11:59” He read the time out loud… I was really confused by what was going on, I began to stand up to go look out the window, I was curious if any cars have left. “Wait, don’t go” He said grabbing my arm, I sat back down… He glanced at his phone again… I looked down too… It was still 11:59… Seconds later it changed to 12:00, the date on it changed as well… 12:00am…April 2nd…and before I could look at the year (I knew what year it was, but I usually read the whole thing anyways) He grabbed my face and kissed me… It wasn’t like a special, fancy kiss, it was only for a few seconds did it go on… But I was so shocked, my eyes were wide at first, then slowly closed… Soon enough he released and looked me in the eyes for a couple seconds… “Wh-what?” I said looking down, wondering if it was real life, not just a dream… Then I looked back up at him “I love you…” he said to me smiling and looking me RIGHT in the eyes. “I wanted to do it after today so you wouldn’t think it was an April Fools Joke.” He said and smiled a little bit bigger… So… He really does love me? I guess so… It’s not April 1st anymore… I grabbed his face and kissed him again, still nothing special, just a quick one. “I love you too…” I said slowly but meaningfully, the same way he said it to me, I smiled and he stood up, walked to the stereo and turned it on once more. “Let’s go” he said smiling at me, I giggled and stood up, we continued our “concert” and it went on until the last guest had left our house, which meant it was time for him to go too, he walked home in the dark, and I counted every step he took until I couldn’t see him anymore. I laid on my bed and thought to myself…Madison…He could work… I said out loud smiling to myself… And closing my eyes…
That was the first official day Madison and I became boyfriend girlfriend *April 02* Will always be, as of now, my favourite date of the year! <3
